Cop punches girl in face

Marlo Manson

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
I don't condone police violence towards anyone, but I did see the girl swing @ him 1st. that and he was vastly outnumbered! all those bystanders could have jumped the officer, why he didn't have adequate back up is beyond me, but, I think he did what he had to do in that given situation, had he used a weapon then maybe its an issue, both girls were resisting and out of control IMO.

I live in the City, and I have been assaulted by the police, so I am not just some snob siding with the officer, those girls were out of control, they resisted, and shit happens when you don't obey an officers commands, whether your right or wrong, just listen to the officer and the situation gets resolved quicker without anybody getting hurt or anybody having any regrets!

^^Agreed...he should be embarassed about that. :o

But where's the respect for the police? That comes from home. And in urban, low-income neighborhoods, whether white or black, the problem is compounded with single mothers on welfare, or perhaps working two jobs. There is little parenting...just t.v., hip-hop music and cell phone use.

And of course race has to be thrown in here, but I'm sure the same outcome would have occurred if both the teens and the cop were white.

I thought about applying to the Seattle PD before I decided I didn't want to do street work for a few years before doing a lateral transfer to where I wanted to go.

Due to budgets and roster, it's not always possible for them to have a partner. Especially when you are out on the street so many years. Mind, this doesn't make what he did right (of course using pepper spray or a taser would get as much flack) but it's the reality of a lot of departments out there. If I was in that situation, I probably would have called for backup and chanced them running vs. the possibility of getting jumped.

I'm trying to figure out why he had so much trouble restraining a 17 y.o. girl

You would be surprised how hard it is to control a kid. I worked juvenile detention at an all girls facility for 5 years, they're slippery buggers. Plus, with him being a man, he has to be careful with how much force he uses. Although, I kind of think he blew it. ;-\

What he done was wrong professionally but there was extreme provacation as they were screaming and jostling in an extremely hostile manner right in his face and i think he just lost it. He would've done best to wait for backup whe he saw she was resisting arrest but Marlo was right in saying they should've respected and listened to the cop and could've ironed out any issues back at the station. Ideally he should've pepper sprayed or tasered her as a punch seems so primal and the effects are longer lasting, shame on all the other 'people' standing around trying to inflame the incident rather than help calm things down, instead of fucking filmimg it to show your mates why not tell the women to calm down as she was only making things worse for herself. There may also be a background story we don't know about as they were obviously pulled over for something, he could've pulled them over for just being Black or she could have been distracting him from the Heroin in her car :dunno:

17 y.o. belligerent girl swinging on a male cop, he's already in a no win situation from a p.r. standpoint. I would have loved to see him simply take a step back and taze the shit out of her ass.

Tut, tut! You may call it "police violence", when in fact it was an advanced interrogation technique. :angels:

Bad situation, and not only weren't her friends trying to help calm her down, which a good friend would have done, they started to get physically involved against the police officer.

It is sad he seems to have serious trouble handling a angry little girl getting in the way of police work. He needs to go back to Police School.

In the end, he might as well have tasered her or use the baton...

He should have acted a bit tougher earlier, not let the girl get all worked up and pushing him around. He needed to finish this situation before it totally spiralled out of control.

The girl in the pink only pushed him and got popped - that's what I saw.

It's cool how their cell phone has a censor capability.

He should have knocked that bitch the fuck out. Thats what you get for not cooperating with the law.

I felt the one thing that the cop did wrong was he failed to loudly make warnings audible. In situations like this, you must make sure to make your commands heard. Not only are there people watching this with camera phones, but cops also have dashboard cams. That cop made no attempt to talk her through the situation, nor did he give commands for her to cease... he just kept wrestling with her, and subsequently punched her in the jaw (which was very much warranted).

She was lucky she only was punched. She was out of control and seems like he was trying to be patient. I don't condone police brutality but in this case he hit her and it's not a problem for me. Yes he should have called for backup and waited but it was two young girls that he thought he could handle. He tried not to slam and tackle them like they would twice his size, he didn't taz them like most people probably would have preferred watching on utube, and thank God he didn't shoot them. Everyone knows that happens.
